COVID-19

President Trump on Wednesday announced that the U.S. and Canada are temporarily closing their shared border to non-essential traffic as part of the effort to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

“We will be, by mutual consent, temporarily closing our Northern Border with Canada to non-essential traffic. Trade will not be affected”

The border is open and will remain open to trade. Trucks are still crossing the border in both directions without restrictions.

Truck drivers and Canadian snowbirds, who live in the U.S. for part of the year and are returning to Canada, are among those expected to get an exemption. Completely closing the border would cause severe economic damage to both the U.S. and Canada as the two economies are integrated.

We will be sending out a future emails addressing the corona virus and how we will be adapting procedures as needed.

CB Customs is fully staffed and it is business as usual.
