Here are some of the most common questions customers have had.


What is a Customs broker?

Customs brokers are private individuals, partnerships, associations or corporations licensed, regulated and empowered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to assist importers and exporters in meeting Federal requirements governing imports.


What is a Customs bond?

The Bond guarantees that CBP will collect all import duties, taxes, fines or penalties, if not from the importer then from the insurance/surety company who issued the bond.


What is a Proforma?

An abridged invoice sent by a seller to a buyer detailing a shipment or delivery of goods. It notes the kind and quantity of goods, their value, and other important information such as weight and transportation charges. Pro forma invoices are commonly used for customs purposes in importation. They differ from a normal invoice in not being a demand or request for payment.


At what ports are you able to clear my shipments?

We are a remote filer which means we can clear goods at any US Port of Entry.


What are CB Customs hours of operation?

We are available 24/7.  If the office is not physically open, we have a trained on-call staff to process all shipments.


Does CB Customs employ any licensed brokers?

Yes, we have two of them.  If you refer to “about us” you will be able to read their bio’s.
